It's unfair that our furry friends don't stay with us forever. But with good care and exceptional nutrition, we can give them he longest and healthiest life possible. That's what Alvar Pet is about.

Alvar Pet was founded in Helsinki in 2020 by lifelong dog people Ilari, Henna and Hanna. We shared a vision and passion for developing tailored dog nutrition that combines scientific research and close understanding of each customer dog's individual needs, whilst being produced locally and sustainably. Although founding a startup midst covid was far from easy, the convenience of our direct-to-dog service was warmly welcomed.

Our mission is to help pets live healthier and longer.

With the right nutrition, we can prevent many health issues and add years to a dog's life. Yet personalised, expert nutritional advice isn't easily available. That's where our food guide steps in. By telling us about your dog, we build a tailored diet to suit their unique needs.

In 2024, we joined forces with another Finnish pet industry forerunner, Kivuton, who's inspiring story started from a veterinary clinic. Together, we’re building Europe’s leading pet health focused e-tailer.
